I have examined the accompanyiny Ordinance, entitled,

An Ordinance to secure the better training of Midwives and to

regulate their practice

vi Iam of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's

strucciones

This Ordinance introduces into the Colony the chief provisions

the Midwives Act, 1902.

The marginal notes show the equivalent sections in the English Act.

The constitution of the Midwives Board (section 4) was approved by he Medical Board of the Colony.

The appeal from a decision of the Midwives Board is vested (section in the Governor-in-Council in place of the High Court of Justice at

One.

The Ordinance does not apply to Chinese unless they use the name midwife in English or any name title or description implying that hey are certified under this Ordinance (section 13). This section was
